Ground Turkey Chili Recipe

This is a recipe for homemade ground turkey chili that my mom use to make years ago, but I’ve since spiced it up a bit. It’s nothing too fancy. This is a healthy turkey chili recipe using a boat load of spices that you can easily modify to your liking. The best part is you can whip up this ground turkey chili recipe in less than an hour.

Turkey Chili

Ground turkey or ground beef, it’s up to you. I use ground turkey in this chili recipe since it’s more healthy, and that’s pretty much what we use when something calls for ground beef. There’s a lot of different herbs and spices going on in this dish, which make it somewhat unique. The chili powder addition is low so this isn’t overly spicy, but you can amp that up if you prefer a more spicy chili.

Cooking Notes

This recipe is so easy to throw together. Simply brown your ground turkey, add the onions and garlic, and throw everything else into the pot. Bring it to a quick boil and let it simmer for at least an hour.

This chili recipe does not contain beans for those that don’t like beans in their chili. I loathe kidney beans, so you won’t see me using that in any of my recipes. I do like Great Northern or Black Beans, and have used both in this chili recipe. Easy enough to add a can at the end of the simmer. Basically do what you want with the bean addition.
