🧑‍🍳 About Me
Hi there — I’m Craig, the creator behind Craigerson, a blog that started as a simple personal space for documenting my passions. Over time, one theme kept rising to the top: cooking. Whether it’s trying something new, reinventing an old favorite, or figuring out a quick meal on a busy weeknight, food has always been something that brings me joy (and occasionally a little chaos).
Why a Food Blog?
Like most home cooks, I’ve spent years saving recipes in random places — bookmarks, screenshots, scraps of paper, notes on my phone. At some point I realized: It was easier to build a website than find that one recipe I saved three years ago.
So this food blog was born as a way to organize my “go-to” dishes — the ones that actually make it into my regular rotation. Along the way, it became something bigger: a place to share what I’m learning, what I’m cooking, and the little twists that make each dish feel like mine.
And I don’t know about you, but I get so annoyed with the many food blog sites that are bloated with ads, and go on and on about how great their recipe is. Just give me the damn recipe. What you’ll find here is some basic background on the recipe I created, and the actual recipe. No bloat!
For transparency… A number of the images you’ll find on my recipes are stock images (or maybe even AI generated). If you see Recipes By Craigerson on the photo, it’s a stock image. Running this food blog isn’t my full time job, and taking pictures when I’m cooking has never been a priority. Having said that, I’ll focus on updating the images next time I make one of those dishes (maybe).
How I Cook
I don’t follow strict culinary rules. I love recipes, but I treat them more like suggestions than commandments. I’ll swap ingredients, change techniques, adjust flavors, and occasionally ignore measurements altogether (sorry in advance).
This blog reflects that same spirit:
- Approachable recipes
- Simple ingredients
- A willingness to experiment
- Zero judgement if you eyeball your measurements
My hope is that you’ll find something here that inspires you to try a dish your own way, too.
What You’ll Find Here
Pretty much everything. I don’t limit myself to one cuisine or style — if it tastes good, it belongs here. Expect:
- Comfort-food classics
- Low-carb experiments
- Fast weekday meals
- Weekend cooking projects
- Dishes I’ve modified beyond recognition
- Recipes I thought I’d mess up but somehow didn’t
As the blog evolves, I’ll continue adding categories, tips, and maybe some behind-the-scenes stories from my (sometimes messy) kitchen.
A Little More About Me
When I’m not cooking or writing for this blog, I’m usually working on tech projects, building iOS apps, exploring new hobbies, or getting lost in another creative rabbit hole. Food is a thread that ties all of it together — it’s how I relax, how I experiment, and how I stay connected to the people around me.
Thanks for Being Here
Whether you’re here for inspiration, curiosity, or just because you love scrolling through food photos as much as I do, I’m glad you stopped by. This blog is a work in progress — just like every good recipe — and I hope you’ll stick around as it grows.
